Chaos;Head Review

     Oh shit sun. This one goes hard. Chaos;Head is an anime based on a visual novel about a schizophrenic dawg who witnesses a murder and does other neat shit that I can't really explain without spoiling things. Anyways, I'm finna get to the point I'm trying to make now.
     As I watched this show, throughout most of the series I thought its plot would remain for the most part on the surface and that I wouldn't find too much deeper meaning in it, that was until the moment. The moment in the series where the true meaning of it hit me right in the face. It was in either episode 10 or 11 (the show has 12 episodes). I can't really give you any context, because it would spoil everything, but basically, this thug ass shit is all about the concept of existence, and the acception and denial of it. Again, I can't say much about the plot since this part is so late in the series, but what goes down is the protagonist realizes that because he is concious, he exists, even though he was under the impression that he was not a real person and that everything he experienced was fabricated. It's some crazy shit dawg.
     Aight. So I done did gone and told 'em all how it be. This was a really great show, and I encourage the fine folks who read this blog (all 2 of them) to watch this crazy shit. Skee!

Korgoth of Barbaria Review

     It is some real pussy shit when a homie puts a lot of time into a pilot episode for a show, and then the show never gets made. This sort of pussy-shittery is exemplified by Korgoth of Barabaria, a pilot for a show that came to be. Adult Swim aired the pilot and announced in June 2006 that they picked it up as a series, but nothing beyond the pilot was ever created. Pussy-shittery indeed. The episode is about Korgoth, a barbarian in a post-apocalyptic world who is swindled into stealing a fancy statue for some wacky dude. It's some thug island shit.
     Aside from expressing my dissatisfaction with the fact that there will most likely never be another episode of this shit, all I really have to say is this show is funny as fuck. This is one of the rare instances in recent times where dumb, over-the-top humor has made me laugh my shaft off. It's just so wacky. It is absolutely beautiful! There's one scene in particular that comes to mind. It is from 5:51 to 6:44 in the video below. I replayed that part about 3 times when I watched this. It's diggity dank!

Akira Review

     Aight homeboiiiz. Finna get reviewin' again. This time this shit be about Akira, a movie that I watched and liked and what not. It's a feature length anime film that was released in 1988, written by Katsuhiro Otomo and Izo Hashimoto, based on Otomo's manga of the same name. The movie is about a gang of young bikers from Tokyo in the year 2019 who get wrapped up in some wacky shit involving psychic powers and government conspiracies. This shit definitely swerves.
     The first thing I have to say about this straight up trill shit is that it has a really fucking dank soundtrack. It was composed by Shoji Yamashiro, who is also a really smart guy who taught at several universities and has a Doctorate of Agriculture and did a bunch of other really cool shit. The songs in the film are very percussive, and have a lot of instrument sounds like bells, woodblocks, xylophones, and plucked strings. It's very contrasting to the futuristic look of the movie, which makes it even more fitting.
     Even if you hate this movie and think everything about it is complete shit, it is undeniable how big of an impact it has made on Japanese animation, as well as animation in general across the globe. It is considered by many to be one of the greatest animated films of all time, with its art and writing being influential to countless creators in the TV and movie industry. The film spawned a new wave of anime fandom outside of Japan in the 1990's. This shit is just top shelf, and y'all bustas can't deny.
     Can't fuck wit it!
